What an incredible experience to be in Nashville during the Gospel Music Association (GMA) week. Everyone had a hectic, yet rewarding, schedule...lack of sleep and food but absolutely worth it. I had an interview with George Rowe (thanks "New Jersey" George), several press conferences to attend (from Mark Stuart of Audio Adrenaline to Jeremy Camp), an artists' reception (like a giant meet & greet), a guitar showcase with Chris Rice to Warren Barfield and plenty of choices for evening concerts. I attended a Songwriter's Showcase, which was great as always, with Mark Hall and Matthew West hosting this year. It was great to see them sing with Mac Powell of Third Day. Hmmm new group? Nah. The following night I chose the World Vision concert which included Paul Colman, BarlowGirl, Warren Barfield, Big Daddy Weave, Todd Agnew and Building 429 (GMA's 2005 New Artist of the Year). Later that evening I saw Kutless, Falling Up, Hawk Nelson and KJ-52. The last night I had no choice but to stay and enjoy the RCKTWN Club. I was simply exhausted by this time but I managed to stay up and thoroughly enjoy the performances by Taylor Sorensen, Michael Olson, Sarah Brendel, Mat Kearney, Shaun Groves, Ginny Owens, Superchic(k), Tree63 and Paul Colman. The hosts for the evening were Michael W. Smith and Peter Furler. It was a thrill to watch Peter Furler play the drums for Mat Kearney. I posted a photo above. Way to go Peter!! It was the last night of concerts as the next day was going to be the GMA Awards thus putting an end to this wonderful, yet gruelling, schedule. Besides the rush of trying to get some rest and getting everywhere on time, or at least trying to, it will be truly missed. I can't wait to be blessed and attend once again next year. Blessings to you all who were involved in this crazy incredible week!!! |
